Citrus in Chinese Medicine has effective benefit of "moving and breaking" quality. In the ancient medicine, pain is coming from the "blockage of Qi and Blood". Citrus not only has the breaking and moving effect of the blocked areas which often generates pain, but aIso has its function to enter Liver meridians (pathways of Qi), pathways to enter sometimes Lung meridians. Therefore, oriental medical doctors (which also called as acupuncturists), recommend having more oranges in people to strengthen their liver, or sometimes prescribe lemon teas to help release cold symptoms.
